General medicine or internal medicine is a strong department in Sooriya Hospital. We have two senior full time consultants. In addition to internal medicine, the senior consultants have interest in Pulmonology, Geriatrics and non-invasive Cardiology.

In addition, all other specialists in Sooriya Hospital have a strong, trained bais in general medicine.

Broadly, the internal medicine takes on all cases with the request of specialty consultant services as and when needed.

Master Health Checkup, Preoperative assessment, Postoperative stand by help, support in intensive care unit are few broadened services done under general medicine.

The round the clock support by general medicine is a good asset to the institution in its overall development. Perhaps in future we may plan for national board accreditation.
